To Everything... There Is A Season

January.  The season of rest and hibernation.  It’s my season of enjoying the couch, my bed, big sweaters, fuzzy blankets, cups and cups of wintertime tea (in pretty, dainty cups), and tons of digital streaming.  January’s season of rest comes after a very overloaded month of socializing, crowd fighting, overeating, excessive drinking, hall decking, heightened spending, and family togetherness.  It’s no wonder that we so typically fall into a lazy stooper of complete exhaustion.
January is also the season of fresh starts, bucket lists, resolutions, purging, weight loss initiatives, and goal planning.  Don’t get me wrong, just because I’m on a new work-out plan, doesn’t mean that I’m necessarily spending less time on the couch or in bed (actually…it means I’m working out while digitally streaming).  It’s a season of LISTS.  It feels good to write down my 2016 work goals and to make changes (and cross off items) to my evergrowing-everchanging bucket list.  Writing it down, gives the list purpose; it makes it feel like it’s noted.  Scheduled.  Set in ink.
So, yet in January, I will share with you some of my lists.  Lists of things that I do to relax, book lists, must-see movies for 2016, lists of things to clean and organize, lists related to my newfound health kick, lists of noteworthy Netflix and Hulu series’, lists of items I buy from Aldi each week (I LOVE ALDI), lists of household chores that I’m dividing up among my overly helpful family (insert sarcasm), etc.…
All of these lists are taken straight from my journal and I’ll be posting every couple days.  So stay tuned, cover up with your blankets, grab your dainty tea-cup, hop back into bed, turn on Netflix (Parenthood or Nurse Jackie preferably…stay away from Making a Murderer… too emotionally riveting for hibernation season), and watch for my lists to be posted.  Then… start making some lists of your own.  It’s the perfect “between nap” pastime.
