Heather's MUST READ Book List!


1)  Good in Bed, By Jennifer Weiner
**Tells the story of an overweight, Jewish female journalist.It’s zaney and witty, serious, and relateable about love, work, friendships, and family issues.
2.   Certain Girls, By Jennifer Weiner (sequal to Good in Bed)
**Follows Cannie Shapiro of Good In Bed, years later, in a very different phase of life.
3.  The Godmother, By Carrie Adams
**Heartwarming, funny, and genuine, The Godmother speaks to anyone who has wondered about the next step and reminds us that happily-ever-after is just the beginning of the story.
4.  The Stepmother, By Carrie Adams (sequal to The Godmother)
**Absorbing and touching, humorous and honest, The Stepmother reminds us that there is always another side to the story.
5.  Anything by Lisa Genova: 1)  Still Alice ** The novel is about a woman who suffers early-onset Alzheimer's disease. 2)  Love Anthony ** A story about a mother dealing with the death of her son, who was diagnosed with autism at age three, and ultimately, finding the courage to start over.  3)  Left Neglected ** “is about tending to neglected areas and healing rifts - familial and emotional as well as neurological."  4)  Inside the O’Briens **A story about a family struggling with the impact of Huntington’s disease.
6.  ROOM, by Emma Donoghue
**The story is told from the perspective of a five-year-old boy, Jack, who is being held captive in a small room along with his mother. 
7.   The Glass Castle, by Jeannette Walls
**The book recounts the unconventional, poverty-stricken upbringing Walls and her siblings had at the hands of their deeply dysfunctional parents. 
8.  The Light Between Oceans, by M.L. Stedman
**Australian, Tom Sherbourne, returns home after fighting in the western trenches of World War I in Europe.
